A very simple and cost effective way to heat fuel is via our heat exchanger. This unit heats the fuel using the engine coolant water. This is freely available waste heat once the engine is warm. The heat exchanger should be fitted prior to the fuel filter.

The benefit of heating fuel before the filter is to reduce the resistance of the bio-fuel as it passes through the fuel filter and also to reduce the clogging of fuel filters by double bonded fats that can otherwise form a paste in the filter unless heated.

The standard heat exchanger is fitted to the main coolant hose between engine and radiator and comes with connections for a 40mm coolant hose. We also make units which fit into the interior heater circuit. Please ring us if you need advise on this.

We generally advise for a fuel recirculation loop to be fitted in conjunction with the heat exchanger.
